Malcolm C. SleeAssociateMalcolm Slee joined the firm upon his graduation from Georgetown University Law Center, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tufts University. Mr. Slee's responsibilities in the firm's practice cover all aspects of ERISA. He advises clients in legal developments affecting pension and welfare plans and drafts plan documents and policies to assure compliance with ERISA and Internal Revenue Code technical rules. Mr. Slee also counsels clients on fiduciary issues arising under Title I of ERISA and provides advice on the prohibited transaction issues that arise for ERISA plans. Mr. Slee also drafts contracts for clients and has significant expertise negotiating with plan providers. He has experience negotiating contracts relating to a broad range of investment vehicles and regularly analyzes these investments to ensure their compliance with applicable law. Mr. Slee also has substantial experience negotiating contracts with providers on behalf of health plans, including contracts with HMOs, PPOs, consultants, dental plans, life and accidental insurance companies, and dental providers. Finally, Mr. Slee also has significant ERISA litigation experience. He has successfully litigated delinquency collection cases and has also defended clients in benefit claims matters, at both the district and appellate court level. He has also drafted an expert witness report for an ERISA class action litigation alleging fiduciary breach. Mr. Slee also has represented clients in withdrawal liability matters arising under Title IV of ERISA. Mr. Slee is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York. |
